It was recently brought to my attention that I haven’t blogged in a while. Well things don’t change much around here, unless you’re talking about clothes and diapers.  On the cusp of my inaugural Father’s Day, which I have no idea how to celebrate.  I wanted to go get a tattoo in honor of my dad, but that’ll probably have to wait till I’m no longer a stay-at-home dad and getting a steady check.  Then I thought I wanted some running shoes, to get in shape to be here for Addy….yea, and to get fine….LOL!  But then I thought about it and figured hanging out with family should be how to spend Father’s Day.  Every since I’ve had Addy around, I’ve had a hard time figuring out gifts for myself, since she came right before my birthday.  It’s kind of like I have everything I need now…unless somebody out there has a salary job where I’m off on weekends and work regular hours for me, I’m good.

So, since last time I wrote to you all, Addy has definitely gotten bigger, but that’s a given.  She’s doing more, like moving more.  She now HAS to be strapped into whatever I sit her in because she will roll her lil self right up out any seat.  I don’t read to her much, but we play hand-eye games because I want her to be coordinated.  So I make her grab things, no matter if its her pacifier or a toy….if you want it Addy, grab it Addy!  LOL.  I actually caused quite a ruckus on Twitter for purposely positioning Addy so she’d use her right hand to grab things…oh well, my bad for hoping.

Since the first trial run with the crib vs Bre, Addy has been sleeping in her crib most of the night since like Sunday.  We started it because she’s been congested and spitting up thick stuff.  So the humidifier makes it very hot and uncomfortable for us, so it was a simple solution….”go to your room young lady”!  Set her up in there with her monitors, turtle night light, and humidifier….now she’s sleeping for hours and hours on end.  Bre has been okay with it for the most part, at least waiting till 5am or so before she brings her to bed with us, so overall I’d consider Addy’s crib time a success.  She’s been much less congested and well rested.

People ask me, “how’s it going being a stay at home dad?”  I try to answer all the questions positively, because it’s actually pretty cool, but at 3 months Addy really doesn’t care that I’m here as much as I care that I’m here.  I’d really rather be working and making money for us, but I’m taking advantage of the situation that has been presented to me.  I’m not sure what it means to be a great dad, I’ve been told that due to the current fathers out there all I really have to do is “live in the same house with your kid” and I’m miles ahead of the rest of the dads out there.  I’m just trying to be the best at something, so I’m up for the challenge.

Thanks for tuning in……..
